Kodiak Completes Successful Well, Begins Production of 375 mscf/day in Southern Alberta

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(MARKET WIRE)--Sep 18, 2006 -- Kodiak Energy, Inc. (OTC BB:KDKN.OB - News), and its subsidiary Kodiak Petroleum ULC are please to announce the first well on its Granlea property in Southern Alberta has been put into production at an average rate of 375 mscf/d. This closely matches the Company's projected rates.

Kodiak fully anticipates the drilling of further wells and anticipates a major multi-well program on the Manyberries asset, also in Southern Alberta, where the company drilled two successful wells earlier in the year.
